About the training

Visi Armada Consulting delivered a two-day Kaizen Principles training session for the Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd PSM (Process Safety Management) department, held at the Petronas Engineering and Consulting Centre (PECC) in Kerteh, Terengganu on 22 and 23 June 2026. Lead trainer: Husni Halim.

The session introduced the PSM team to Kaizen thinking and the discipline of continuous improvement. Participants explored how small, everyday improvements contribute to safer, more efficient operations — especially relevant within a process safety environment where precision, procedure adherence, and proactive risk management are central to daily work.

Training approach

The programme was structured around interactive classroom sessions combined with group-based activities. The PSM team worked through real-world scenarios relevant to their operational context, using problem-solving frameworks to identify waste, clarify process steps, and design practical countermeasures. Whiteboard sessions and group discussions encouraged cross-sharing of ideas and built a common understanding of Kaizen across the team.

Each group developed improvement action plans and presented their findings, receiving peer feedback and facilitator input before finalising their implementation steps. The collaborative approach ensured that Kaizen principles were not just taught but actively applied throughout the two days.

Key topics covered

The curriculum covered Kaizen philosophy and the continuous improvement mindset, the PDCA improvement cycle, identification and elimination of the 7 wastes (muda), visual management fundamentals, structured problem solving, and action planning for sustained improvement in process safety operations.
